Karigamombe was one of the great ancient Zimbabwean chiefs. His name means "one who can take down a bull." It is one of the most important songs to play when starting a bira because it is used to inform the Spirits about the important occasion happening. We will begin with kushaura, and add high lines or kutsinhira as time permits. Cultural background and techniques will also be covered

Student Materials: Nyamaropa (Cosmas) tuning mbiras will be provided but please bring yours if you have one
