Zimfest 2013 will return to the beautiful campus of Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington on June 27-30. The heart and center of the Zimfest Village this year will be Anderson University Center where registration, housing check-in, dining, some workshops and the Friday evening concert will be held. Within sight of the University Center are the Marketplace and Day Stage and the dorms being used for housing. Go to On-Campus Housing and Meals for details about the dorms and the meals.
Workshops will be held in Harstad Residence Hall, Anderson University Center, Hauge Administration Building and Mary Baker Russell Music Center. Saturday and Sunday evening concerts will be held in the spectacular Lagerquist Concert Hall, which is also in Mary Baker Russell Music Center. Go to Campus Map for the exact location of all buildings being used for Zimfest 2013 and parking. Parking will be free this year in designated PLU parking lots for all festival attendees.
Zimfest 2013 will begin with the free Thursday night concert and Opening Ceremony, which will be held outside on the Admin Lawn (site of the Marketplace and Day Stage).
The full festival will begin on Friday morning with workshops, Marketplace, and Day Stage concerts. Friday evening will feature an African dinner Cabaret in the dining hall followed by the evening concert in the Scandinavian Cultural Center (lower floor of Anderson University Center).
Workshops, the Marketplace and concerts on the Day Stage will continue on Saturday and Sunday with the evening concerts being held in the spectacular Lagerquist Concert Hall in Mary Baker Russell Center. On Sunday morning after breakfast, the Village Meeting will be held in Anderson University Center. This is a time for us to hear from the Zimfest Association Board, the community and our teachers. Go to Festival Schedule for a full schedule of all events and times.
